Dalia has signed the contracts for her book, “A Catch In Time,” and the planned publication date is early 2010. Also, the book is being read, even as we speak, by one of the top movie-making outfits in Hollywood. So things are really beginning to roll.

Recently, the Pierce County Explorer Search & Rescue, near Seattle, was, once again, called in to do an important job for law enforcement.  Law enforcement needed to find a gun that had been used in a crime. My daughter, PattiJo, and her husband, Jerry, are leading members of the volunteer group, which requires enormous amounts [...]

*A three-page proposal by the Fed Chairman had ballooned into a 44-page document by noon today, after the Democrats got their hands on it. Is that what they plan for the tax code, and other bureaucracies. History says, Yes. *Incest joke on Saturday Night Live implies incest between Todd Palin and his daughter, Bristol. Outrageous! [...]

Today is an historic day. Today will determine the future for generations. It will be followed by a series of days, weeks, and months during which more historic days will come and go. The entire world holds its breath as our “leaders” make their choices today. For many of them, the decision will have been [...]

Iran executes children! Iran has almost 150 people who were arrested as children, now in their prisons, on death row, awaiting public execution, by slow hanging. Countless other children have already been executed. Under Sharia law, the law of the state, child executions are routine in Iran. Iran is a co-signatory of an international agreement [...]

A few hours after the horrid bombing of the Marriott hotel in Islamabad, Pakistan, you, the newly elected President Asif Ali Zardari addressed your nation on television, saying you too knows the pain of terrorism because your wife, former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, was killed in December as she was campaigning for the post you [...]

I had a chat at the doorway with one of our good neighbors today. I had told him he could take the basketball court setup for his son. I can’t seem myself leaping around out there, trying to dunk the ball with a cane and an oxygen tank. He said he would like to do [...]

I do not believe we show good people enough respect. I do not believe we show bad people enough objection.

The world is about to come upon an unexpectedly dangerous curve in the road. I wonder if the next leaders of the world will preside over its demise. That is a statement, not a question.

Elections have come to be far less about qualifications and much more to do with media appeal. I was re-reading some of Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s speeches from the time of WWII. Here is what he had to say about media: “To all newspapers and radio stations — all those who reach the eyes and ears [...]

Fall

admin
Monday, September 15th, 2008

I was thinking the other day: At my age, I’ve been relieved of my consequence. Perhaps the reason I weigh the past so heavily, because, in the past, I was relevant. Before Fall came. I feel this Fall, sense it, as a bunny might sense danger with the twitching if its nose. Which Fall will [...]

Tempestuous relationships Build storm systems within myself, Driven by winds of emotion, Shaded by clouds of remorse, Fear, and self-doubt.

I don’t know why this thought never struck me before, but it seems that in areas closer to the equator, the primative worship practices were focused upon the Sun, but in the north, such as with the Vikings, lightning and thunder were gods. This thought occurred to me the night I watched and listened to [...]

Today is a day during which we should remember. Today is a days we should not forget. Today is a day we should be grateful to the people whose lives were lost. Today is a day when we should commit ourselves to taking every measure not to let such a thing happen again, at home, [...]

(Click to enlarge) Dalia signed a pretty nice contract for her book today. Won’t be out till mid-2010, but that’s not unusual in the biz. I had the pleasure of editing the last couple of drafts and I think it’s a good read. It’s called “A Catch In Time.” Dalia has an amazing agent. Kimberley [...]
